Fleet Mechanic
Job Description
- INSPECT AND REPLACE BRAKES, WHEEL SEALS, SLACK ADJUSTERS, ETC.\INSPECT, REPLACE U-JOINTS, YOKES, PINION SEALS, DRIVELINES
- INSPECT AND REBUSH TRUCK SUSPENSIONS, KENWORTH AIR BAG, HENDRICKSON WALKING BEAM
- INSPECT AND REBUILD TRAILER SUSPENSIONS, AIR RIDE, SPRING, AND LOGGER
- REPLACE CLUTCHES, FLYWHEELS
- REMOVE AND REPLACE TRANSMISSIONS
- REMOVE AND REPLACE DIFFERENTIALS
- TROUBLE SHOOT AND REPAIR ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS, CHARGING AND STARTING
- WELDING SKILLS THAT INCLUDE THE OPERATION OF AN ARC WELDER, MIG AND TIG WELDERS, AIR-ARC, TORCH CUTTING
- LIGHT FABRICATION
- D.O.T. AND SAFETY INSPECTIONS
- OCCASIONAL LUBE AND SERVICE TRUCKS
IN ADDITION TO THE SKILLS LISTED ABOVE THE MECHANIC MUST BE MOTIVATED AND ABLE TO WORK SAFELY, EFFICIENTLY AND PRODUCTIVELY. THE EMPLOYEE MUST ALSO BE ABLE TO WORK AND GET ALONG WITH OTHER EMPLOYEES AS A TEAM.
Shift will be variable to cover 24 hour operations. Need is determined by the hiring manager.
