A class 8 truck will burn about 1.0 gallon of fuel an hour at an idle. Folks we have drivers idling for 2-3 hours a day. Between Martin Transportation Co. and F V Martin Trucking Co. we have nearly 80 trucks. Fuel is $6.00 per gallon. This month has 22 working days. Let’s do the math.
$6.00 per gallon X 80 trucks X 22 days = $10,560 per month wasted. That’s only one hour per day for each truck.
Please do not sit and idle your truck.

Most: 88, 71, 69
Special note. You local drivers. Your truck never works hard and does not need cool down time. Shut it off while stopped.
Here are examples. Truck number 88 in Sept idled for 208 hours. Truck number 71 166 hours Truck number 120 idled for 3 hours
