Earlier this week, while heading to the office, I was coming up to Merry Lane when I saw something that made me shake my head. An empty log truck was barreling down Merry Lane toward Highway 62 — and I swear it didn’t even slow down for the stop sign.
That’s not just careless. That’s stupid.
Here’s the thing: when you’re scanning for oncoming cars, it’s already tough to see a pedestrian—especially someone in dark clothing. What if that person wasn’t me? What if it was the guy who handles our auto insurance? Or the one who runs Boise, Murphy, or Roseburg Forest Products?
Now that would be one heck of an advertisement for us, wouldn’t it?
The point is this: you never know who’s watching. So beyond just being safe — and yeah, safety should come first — remember that every time you’re behind the wheel, you’re representing all of us.
Drive like it.
