It’s July. That means long days, dry roads, and the busiest season for a lot of us in trucking and logging. It’s the month where the sun is up before you are and stays out late whether you want it to or not.
July has always been a get-things-done month. Crops come in. Timber moves. Construction doesn’t shut down for weather. Everyone’s pushing to make the most of the season.
A fun fact: July was named after Julius Caesar. Before that, the Romans just called it the “fifth month” (their calendar started in March). When Caesar reworked the calendar, they renamed it to honor him. Say what you want about the guy, but having a whole month named after you is a pretty decent legacy.
We don’t have any plans to get a month named after us. But we do believe in earning our name every day. That means showing up, doing the work right, and taking pride in being the people others count on when it’s hot, dusty, and long.
So here’s to July. Let’s stay hydrated, stay sharp, and keep things rolling.
