Long hours in the driver’s seat can do a number on your back if you’re not careful. One simple habit that can help? Stretch before and after your shift.
Think of it like warming up and cooling down. When you sit for hours, your hip flexors tighten, your lower back stiffens, and your posture suffers. Taking just 2–3 minutes to do basic stretches can keep you looser and reduce aches at the end of the day.
Try this: Before getting in the cab, stand tall, interlace your fingers overhead, and lean gently to each side. After your shift, do a simple quad stretch by grabbing your ankle behind you. Even small moves like rolling your shoulders or twisting gently at the waist can help.
Your truck is your tool, but so is your body. Take care of it, and it will take care of you—on the road and off.
