It may still be sunny in the Rogue Valley, but September is the perfect time to get ahead of winter by checking your tire chains.
Every driver should take a few minutes to:
-
Make sure your chains are in the truck
-
Look them over for broken links or missing parts
-
Double-check that they fit your current tires
-
Replace any chains that are damaged or rusted beyond use
We all know how fast the seasons change in Oregon. You don’t want to get caught on a mountain pass without legal chains — or worse, with a set that’s tangled, broken, or doesn’t fit.
DOT doesn’t care if you meant to check them; they just care that you’re prepared.
If you’re missing chains or need help figuring out if yours are still good, stop by the shop. A few minutes now can save you hours of headaches (and fines) down the road.
Stay safe and be ready!
