Log Truck Safety Reminder

By January 12, 2026Blog Posts

This is a quick safety reminder for everyone hauling logs.

First, make sure you are using four wrappers on every load. That is company policy, no exceptions.

Use your CB radio on haul roads. Call your miles and share the road with other trucks. At the same time, drive like no one else has a CB. Personal rigs do not have radios, so always stay alert and expect the unexpected.

Wear your PPE at all times. That means a hard hat, boots, safety glasses, and a high vis shirt, jacket, or vest. This protects you and keeps everyone safer on the landing.

Always double check your ticket before leaving. Do not rely only on what the loader operator says. If the destination on the ticket does not match what loader told you, call Ryan before you roll.

Pre trip and post trip your truck every day. When leaving the landing, stop and do a load check and thump your tires. Do not kick tires. Use a hammer or something solid so you can feel the tire properly.

If job directions on the board are off, even by a mile, let Ryan know. Logging jobs move, and that helps the next driver.

Make sure your tire chains are ready. It is January, and snow can happen anywhere.

Most of all, be safe. It is cold and foggy this time of year. We want you and the truck back in the yard every day.

Thanks, everyone.
