We run an open door policy here. That means if you have a question, concern, or suggestion, the leadership team wants to hear it. Open communication helps us solve problems quickly and keep things running smoothly.
The best way to use this system is by following the chain of command:
-
If you work in the shop, talk to Phil Scott.
-
If you drive log truck, talk to Ryan Hutchens.
-
If you drive flatbed, talk to George Wood.
-
If you work in the office or are part of management, talk to Troy.
If you ever feel uncomfortable talking to your immediate supervisor, you can go straight to Ryan or Troy.
Talking with a coworker may help sometimes, but it does not always get issues solved and can put them in a tough spot. Going directly to leadership is the most effective way to get answers or resolve concerns.
In my 35 years here, I have never seen anyone punished or treated poorly for bringing something forward. A long time ago, we did have one employee get so heated that he came in unglued and was ready to “take it outside.” We settled him down and reminded him that we handle our issues by talking like adults, not by fighting. Communication solved it, and it never went further than that. The joys of being a supervisor include handling moments like that and making sure things stay professional.
Please feel free to speak up. We appreciate honest feedback, and we want to keep this a place where people feel comfortable bringing questions and suggestions directly to leadership.
