The First Five Minutes

By April 27, 2026Blog Posts

Here’s something to think about.

What you do in the first five minutes of your day usually tells you how the rest of it is going to go.

Do you:

  • Take a minute to get organized
  • Do a quick check of your truck
  • Look over your load and paperwork
  • Think ahead about the day

Or do you:

  • Rush out the gate
  • Skip the basics
  • Figure it out as you go
  • Spend the rest of the day reacting

Most bad days don’t just happen. They start small. Something gets missed early, and then you spend the next ten hours dealing with it.

On the flip side, most smooth days start the same way — a few minutes of doing things right up front.

It doesn’t take long. Five minutes. Maybe ten.

Check your truck. Look things over. Get your head right before you roll.

That small investment at the start of the day can save you hours later.

Start your day right, and the rest of it usually follows.
