August 23-29 is CVSA’s (Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance), Brake Safety Week. During the 7-day focused inspection and enforcement event, inspectors in Canada, Mexico, and the United States will conduct commercial motor vehicle inspections with a special focus on brake systems and components.
This year, inspectors will center their attention on drums and rotors.
During 2025’s Brake Safety Week, Commercial motor vehicle inspectors placed 2,296 vehicles out of service due to brake-related violations. That is a 15.1% out-of-service rate.
Please conduct a thorough pre- and post-trip inspection to alleviate any inspection hold-ups.
