The shop has started to do brake adjustment inspections. After the first week the brake adjustment inspections on 22 trucks has been completed and of the 22 inspections, 16 were found to have brakes out of adjustment. You may have noticed red zip ties on the push-rod of the brake can, this is a visual aid used to measure push rod throw or travel. The maximum push rod travel on steer axles and lift axles is 1 ½ inches, while the maximum travel on driver and trailer brakes is 2 inches. Please utilize the red zip tie as an aid in checking your brake adjustments.
