It’s getting toasty out there! It’s also that time of year again when we’d like to remind people to not leave your dogs in a hot car. Temperatures can rise within minutes, putting your pet at risk.
A common question we get is what you can do in these situations. Here are some options:
If the car is near a business, contact management and ask to have the owner paged.
Monitor the dog to see if it’s in obvious distress from the heat. If unable to contact the owner, call dispatch at 541-770-4783.
Breaking a window would only be the very last option and its best to let us have that responsibility.
