FV Martin is getting ready for a DOT audit. This is caused by a couple of reasons.
One.) to many accidents reported.
Two.) our out of service rate is too high.
The first one speaks for itself. I’m sure no one gets in an accident on purpose. As a matter of fact. I’m sure you all try to avoid them when possible. Please keep working on that effort and we will get that one cleared up.
The second one bothers me.
We do not allow, require or ask any driver to drive trucks that are unsafe. You all must inspect and write up issues on your trucks.
If you are going to go through an inspection location. Stop prior to arriving and do an inspection yourself. If you see a problem. Call us for directions on how to fix it prior to going through process.
A professional truck driver can not look dumber than one driving into a open scale or inspection center with a flat tire.
I am not scared of an audit. We run a tight ship here. I have full confidence in Chelsey and we will get through it. It’s just a waste of a lot of time.
Please do your part to avoid accidents and inspect your equipment often and keep it in top operating condition.
