An American classic “Tater tot casserole”

This was one of my favorite dishes that my mother used to make when I was growing up. I still make it on occasion as an adult and I still love it.

In a 9×13 glass or metal pan spread 1 to 2 lbs. of ground beef on the bottom of pan and season to your liking. Mix 1 to 2 10.5 cans of cream of chicken, cream mushroom, or cream of celery soup with 1 cup of shredded cheese. Spread that evenly over the ground beef. Line tater tots over the top to completely cover the soup mix.

Bake at 375 for 15 -20 minutes covered with aluminum foil. Remove aluminum foil and cook for 10-15 minutes to how crispy you want your tater tots.

The cool thing about this recipe is one is able to alter it to your liking, such as more shredded cheese, less soup mix, more or less ground beef. It is up to your taste how you want it.
