For the newer drivers that are unaware, all of the tractors have a suspension dump inside the cab. This can be very useful while dropping or hooking up trailers, especially loaded ones. This can easily set the trailer on the ground and take pressure off of the fifth wheel when dropping a trailer. Same thing when hooking one up. Use the suspension dump, get underneath the trailer, GET OUT AND LOOK to see if you are close enough, then raise your suspension to finalize locking the jaws of the fifth wheel. Remember to double check that you are in fact hooked up by doing a tug test. Hope this helps.
