Clear skies when you start your day, frost in the shadows, then rain, fog, wet leaves and or strong winds a few hours later. For truck drivers, changing conditions mean adjusting your driving strategy.
- Pre-trip… lights, tires, wipers, and brakes before leaving the yard.
- Don’t forget to check the forecast.
- Slow down, roads can be slick.
- Increase your following distance in fog or fog.
- Be ready for strong crosswinds, especially when empty.
A few extra minutes of preparation can make a big difference when the weather turns.
