I have noticed a few issues I need to clear up. One is parking of your log truck. Unless given permission on a daily basis for a special reason. All log trucks must be parked at the White City yard or at the Murphy Oregon yard. Not at home. There are many reasons why. One being our insurance company likes them in a fenced in yard. One being you MUST take a 30-minute break if you are not at home facility nightly. This is just to name a few. We will make the “once in a while” exception.
Number two. If you like to start early or work lots of hours or just the opposite, we encourage you to talk to your dispatcher. We will keep it in mind WHEN WE CAN. However, we cannot ever tell a driver we will not start you before a certain time of day. Can you imagine us telling a customer, “we would love to haul your logs but the truck I have available doesn’t like to start that early, so we better turn it down” Do you suppose they would call back?
We simply cannot do everything to make everyone happy. But we try has hard as we can. Some times you will have to bear through it with us. We do like to please our employees. If we did not, we would not have rented a yard in Murphy to help you folks that live up there.
Keep in mind, the best way to break in a new dispatcher is do what they ask, when they ask, without complaining. Then communicate your preference to them so they can pay you back by trying to work that out for you. After all it really is an “I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine” world.
