Truckers and legislators in half of the 10 states that automatically adopted California’s Advanced Clean Trucks regulation are trying to pump the brakes to stop the rules from taking effect starting in 2025. Oregon, Washington, Massachusetts, New Jersey & New York cite supply chain concerns and seek to delay their 2025 compliance. These are followed by Vermont in 2026 and Maryland, New Mexico and Rhode Island in 2027.
As quoted in the TTNews article, OTA President & CEO Jana Jarvis stated that four carriers and three dealerships discussed ACT-related problems in July with Gov. Tina Kotek, who promised to look into the matter. OTA is calling on members to urge the Oregon Environmental Quality Commission to delay the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) rule until January 1, 2027!
