What does that mean?
It means that it’s easy to get caught up in our daily routines and just run on auto pilot. “I’m supposed to go here, get my load and take it to there.” You know what you have to do each and every time. There is no room to cut corners. Cutting corners or just going through the motions is not good enough. Every one of us has an important and potentially dangerous job to get done every day.
Make sure your truck is safe to operate, ensure your load is correctly secured, check it often, because things will shift and move. How do you get into and out of the truck? Three points of contact?
Watch your speed, stay in your lane and be extra cautious when making lane changes.
Everyone else out there is relying on each of us to pay attention and do the right thing every time, even if they don’t!
