Safety First: PPE and Professionalism Matter

By May 5, 2025Blog Posts

At F.V. Martin Trucking, safety is always the top priority. When you’re loading or unloading your truck at a mill, you are required to wear the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). This includes:

  • A safety vest or high-visibility shirt or coat

  • A hardhat

  • Work boots (Steel toe at Boise)

These items help keep you safe and visible around heavy equipment and busy yards.

In the shop, don’t forget to use eye protection and hearing protection when the job calls for it. Grinding, cutting, and other loud or dangerous tasks require the right gear. It takes just a few seconds to protect yourself — and it can make a big difference.

One last reminder: Be friendly and respectful at the mills. Many of them are our customers, and how we act matters. A good attitude goes a long way toward keeping strong relationships and steady work.

Stay sharp, stay safe, and thank you for doing things the right way.
