SPRING WEATHER AND DRIVING

By April 15, 2025Blog Posts

With winter behind us, we feel much more at ease to be driving. Although roads are not as risky as they were in the icy months, there are still things that we need to be aware of and considered during the warmer spring season. Here are four suggestions for spring driving.

Spring showers may bring more rain, but they also cause slippery roads, flooding, maybe even hail. If you have to brake hard in this type of weather your wheels may lock up just like if it was icy.

Remember, its time to restock your emergency supplies. With allergies, colds and flu spreading around, stocking up on essentials is critical for your health. This also includes items such as water, food and snacks, batteries in case of a road closure, accident or storm.

Besides rainy days and hail storms, another issue to watch for during spring driving is potholes. Freezing and thawing of road surfaces, deicer, and harsh weather conditions make appear every spring. To avoid vehicle or tire  damage try to avoid potholes the best you can. If you can’t, take them slow.

Although warmer days are coming soon, there are still some chilly days and nights ahead. It’s a good idea to keep a warm jacket, a blanket and maybe even some hand warmers with you until the warm weather is upon us.

SAFE TRAVELS!
